Summer Fashion - Swimsuits...

Whilst I am sadly not going abroad this summer, that doesn't stop me from wishing and searching around for summer fashion and hypothetical fashion finds.

I can waste away many hours with browsing online clothing sites, and for swimwear I find ASOS to be one of the best - due to the range of price and variety of styles on offer.

I am slowly drifting from the beloved bikini, which is partly due to feeling insecure in one and the knowledge that my body is not suitable for one, so the idea of a swimsuit sounds more and more appealing. Now I know that swimsuits have a fuddy duddy association and conjure images of women in revolting and shapeless one-pieces whilst trying to cover up their additional tyre, but that doesn't have to be the case. I was scrolling through ASOS's swimwear and thought I would show you some swimsuits that I would get if I a) had somewhere to wear them, and b) had lots of money...

Seafolly - £84

Nookie - £134

Calvin Klein - £120

Seventh Wonderland - £170

ASOS - £35

ASOS - £30

Ahhh man, I so want to be going somewhere exotic so that I could sport these numbers on the beach or by the pool, but alas I am not and fear that these also require the model body that sells them to us so well...sigh.

What's your go to swimwear?

Enjoy,

Free Falling...

Since I can remember I have been itching to do a Skydive, it's been top of my life list for far too long. I had originally planned on doing one for my 18th birthday and then I stupidly forgot at the time and put it off for my 21st. So, three days after my birthday I finally did it, here are some snaps of the big day and my thoughts on it all...

Always pulling a silly face...

Ready and rearing to go...

The Dave that was my tandem buddy...

Falling from 10,000 feet with a grin on my face...

Afterwards, looking windswept and feeling invincible...

I am someone who loves adrenaline activities and is never afraid of a roller-coaster, so I had no nerves about the dive. It all happened very quickly, I got into my blue suit, met Dave, and the next thing I knew we were walking towards the plane.

The jump itself was just amazing, it was such an incredible feeling and I would do it again in a heartbeat. At points, it was strange adjusting to the difficulty breathing in that situation of falling quickly etc. and my ears hurt a bit. But, nothing could beat the feeling of falling through clouds and coming out of them gliding with the parachute open, taking in the English countryside and chilling before it was time to land. Just exquisite.

Above all I am just so glad that I ticked off one of my biggest desires and I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same.

Enjoy,

Tattoos and Piercings...

So, I have been considering getting more ear piercings for a while and think I am finally going to give in to these desires this summer. Most of the inspiration has been from images found whilst wasting away hours on pinterest - which I will insert below. I have doubts about whether it will suit me because I seem to be one of those people who can't really pull off much, I don't know if other people feel this way but I will look at someone who is very similar to me but can pull off something I most certainly cannot. :-( Maybe it's me being a girl about things, but I will keep you updated on the piercing front.

When discussing piercings, I thought that I would add tattoos to the mix. I always used to detest tattoos and see them as pointless and horrendous, and now that I have been subjected to more tasteful forms of the bodyart I am less narrow-minded on the topic, but still don't think I would make the dedication to one.

This post is really odd, but I thought that I would put those hours of scrolling through pinterest to use, and share what I think is rad in the piercing/tattoo front. So here it goes...

I really like the idea of having lots of piercings with random studs...

Just like this too...

However, I think I would best suit fewer piercings...

Apologies for using an image of K (don't know which one) Jenner, but I like these three close together...

Now for tatts...

I think this is really unique...

It is probably the black and white image making this look good, but I dig it...

I would totally get this, if I could easily remove it in 5/10 years...
Okay, so evidently I like moons - who knew? But I really love finger tattoos and would get this too, only if it lasted fore a few years though. The idea of forever is just too much for me...

I'd love to see what piercings and tattoos you like,

Enjoy,

Milan - The First Evening...

Over Easter I took a spontaneous trip to Milan with one of my best friends - MJ (I have decided to not use real names on my blog, but instead pet names or nickname, just for their sake). The trip was a total of four days and was such a whirlwind, so I thought I would share the stories and some snaps along the way for your entertainment.

We arrived in Milan at 10pm and had a much needed reunion in the airport - I hadn't seen MJ in far too long. Once we found our way to the accommodation we were staying in it was about midnight, so naturally we decided to get ready and see what the nightlife of Milan had to offer.

After finding a cove of bars and clubs we decided upon what seemed the most popular place, got a round of drinks (which were included in the ridiculously overpriced entrance fees), and boogied to one of the best DJ's I have heard in a while.

Whilst in this club we saw an array of characters, and of course some very well dressed men - we were after all in Milan. Towards the closing time of the club we were goofing around dancing with some Italians, and were kicked out whilst talking to them. Once we got outside we seemed to be swarmed by two different groups of friends; the dancing partners from before and a new crowd, all suggesting after-party locations. After hearing the offers MJ thought that the new crowd sounded like the best bet, when she heard the words "my driver" she was sold. So, off we went with these guys.

I have to interject and state that we only had the one drink at the club, so we weren't drunk or unable to make sensible decisions. We were toying with the borderline of reckless decision making but luckily nothing bad happened - I feel that I needed to say this just to make sure people don't think I'm promoting going off with strangers, because I know how ludicrous and stupid that sounds... ooops.

Back to the story...We went in a car with 3 guys; Romeo, Roman, and "Out of Service" - what they called their friend who was utterly drunk and rather ill, so we didn't get to learn his name. We pulled up outside an apartment block that is very quiet and there is evidently no after-party in progress which we tell them. They reassure us that if we don't like it then we can go and that is no problem.

So, we arrive at their apartment and they insist on showing us the view, for which we have to climb up a gate and clamber onto the roof to see, but it was definiteky breathtaking. At whatever hour it was we had our first view of Milan and it was from the rooftops...

Dusk...

Romeo and Roman showed us around their flat and were keen to show off their latin dance skills and we chatted for hours, and found them to be such nice people who were in Milan to study and taught dance classes on the side - legends. A few hours went by and the chatter hadn't stopped, with the two R's telling us where we had to go in Milan, and their favourite places in Italy and insisting that they would take us.

Their gorgeously Italian apartment courtyard...

The next thing we knew Roman was falling fast asleep and we looked at the clock and it was 7.30am, so we decided it was probably a good thing to go back to our accommodation and get some sleep before our first day in Milan. Romeo, being the true gent that he is, said that he would accompany us to our tram stop.

Still fierce without sleep...

On our way to the tram stop R insisted that we had to try his favourite pastry, and of course no one objects to having a pastry ever, and this was truly one of the best things I have ever tasted. It was just sensational, and accompanied with a cup of coffee - bellisimo.

Tasty delight...

With the rain getting heavier, we hopped on the next tram and headed back to our accomodation, we only recognised our stop by the sex shop that was on the corner - haha, where they were in the middle of breakfast. Our room happened to be right by the breakfast spread, so we flounced in wearing last night's clothes, put our bags down, and headed to grab a bite to eat. After which we went to sleep for a few hours...

I'll be posting the remainder of the trip over the next week,
Enjoy,

Miniature Goals...

I have so many things that I want to do in my life, and even have a word document dedicated to this cause, titled 'My Life List'. The list includes typical things, most of which require plenty of money or are better suited for the future, narrowing down the list significantly.

So, when there are smaller activities for me to complete I am keen to do so and get going with my long list, because you've got to start with these things at some point and why not now?!

I have wanted to do two small things for at least a year now and I keep putting it off and it's about time I just tick them off and find some new things to start getting on with so in the next month I want to...

  1. Give Blood - I have wanted to do this for such a long time and think that it is such a simple and easy way to help a cause.
  2. Get some additional Ear Piercings - I want to get some ear candy and it is about time that I finally go and get that done. I am going to do a separate post on some ear-spirational images that I like and make me want to get some piercings, so stay tuned.
  3. Find a Placement - Next year I am doing a year in industry, but I am yet to find a placement so I really need to find one!!!
What are your goals?

A Few Of My Favourite Things...

One of the reasons I started blogging (again) was to explore myself - that sounds really disgusting and cheesy, but it's more that I am a rather indecisive person and also don't take enough time to really think about myself and analyse the important things and what I truly like.

So... I am starting this series where I will do posts talking about my favourite things. I have always been one of those people who seems to have plenty of favourites, but can never quite narrow things down to just one book or film... blah blah blah. That's mainly because I know that I don't have enough knowledge of all things to be able to decide upon a favourite and all sorts of factors that make it hard.

With this said, I do want to finish this series with a list of some of my firm favourites, and hopefully you can share yours along the way.

Enjoy,

Thirteen Reasons Why - Book Recommendation...

I have just finished the book 'Thirteen Reasons Why' and I absolutely loved it and hardly put it down, so I thought that I would do a review/recommendation for it.

The basic plot of the book - a series of tapes are left behind by a school girl who committed suicide. On these tapes are the 13 reasons/people that contributed to her eventual death, but the story follows the way in which one person (who is one of the 13) reacts to them.

The idea behind the book seems rather morbid, but I don't think that the book lingers too much on the idea of death, it's more about proving the point that small actions have consequences and I found that it was really well written and so easy to read and fall deeply into the story.

I read this on my iPad and it took me less than two days to finish the book, I really enjoyed it and it helped me to fall back in love with reading. I haven't had much time for reading with uni work taking up so much time, so now that I have my summer break I want to make full use of the chance to read. So, if you have any book recommendations then please leave them in the comments section.

Thanks and Enjoy,
