Twenty One

Twenty One is the "official" milestone that marks the beginning of adult life, where you are able to consume alcohol and take responsibility for your actions worldwide. It's a birthday often met with copious amounts of alcohol and a large amount of fuss, plus extra nice presents.

My festive napkins...

I turned 21 last week, and had a really lovely birthday. I feel I should explain that I am not much of a birthday person, I dislike activities being based around me, I don't enjoy being the centre of attention and therefore birthdays are not my favourite in that sense, but I do love a good pile of presents and of course cake.

"21" sparklers on my dairy free cake...

I chose to celebrate my birthday in the only way I seem to know how, with a chilled day and birthday meal out with the family, this means there is limited fuss and I can enjoy the day without feeling uncomfortable.

What an attractive family I have...

We went to dinner at the Hand & Flowers in Marlow, which was exquisite - the food and the whole place was just a treat, and I really recommend it. We all ordered different dishes and got a really great taste of the menu and there were no complaints. Unfortunately, one of my brothers was away with work and couldn't join us, but it was still a fantastic evening.

Enjoying my ale and cake...

One of my highlights of the evening has to be the Chocolate and Ale cake - because no birthday is complete without some chocolate cake. The cake was delicious and came with a specially brewed ale to accompany it, an incredible touch to the dish unlike anything I have experienced before.

The gang all together for a cheesy family shot...

As birthdays go, this has to be one of my favorite to date, I hope you enjoyed the snip-it I shared with you.

Enjoy,

A new start...

Last year, I challenged myself to try and blog every day along the way, documenting what I got up to, and for the most part I really enjoyed it and found it really enjoyable. However, it tended to get a bit tedious when my work load was high and when I hadn't been up to a whole lot.

I decided to stop and deleted all the posts, but still am feeling the bug of wanting to blog about my life and anything that I feel like, so here it goes - Take Two.

At the moment I am having to blog for my degree to promote myself online, which isn't an area where I would choose to blog, but when that is up and running I'll leave a link to it.

For now, an introduction... This blog is a documentation of stand out days and the others in between...

Enjoy,
